Nem rossz

vbence · 2006. Aug. 6. (V), 09.47

Java appletnél sztem normális, főleg amikor a VM indul...

De azért

Hát az már csöppet necces.. Ha kíváncsi vagy próbáld meg, hogy megnézel egy javás oldalt (pl: www.terkepbank.hu), és ha már fut a VM akkor nézed meg ezt...

Hi I'm one of the developers of RhNav.
I've been trying to follow the conversation but I don't speak hungarian and I only was able to use a very bad online translator to try to understand your posts. You seem to have problems with the applet in Firefox, is that right? Maybe you could answer in English or German, that's what I'd understand.

Kind regards,
Walter

questins and such

vbence · 2006. Aug. 27. (V), 23.10
Hi!

The java problem is not a big deal just one of the gus had it. I gladly translate my suggestions:

I liked the idea very much, but it could really use a zoom or scroll functon, because big graphs just zoom away. After a few seconds the letters become illegibly small.
The "Trusted" Applet is a bit scary. Couldn't it work with the common security restrictions? Or is this just an issue of the demo?

I think a flash version of this tool could be really popular.

update

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback and the translation. The project is in an early stage, not much is working in the online demos. Our internal stand-alone application does a lot of cool stuff :).

I updated the online version, take a look at http://www.metaportaldermedienpolemik.net/applet/ for more info. There are now rudimentary functions to navigate the graph (zoom, drag, look around).

Regarding the "Trusted" Applet. Unfortunately at the moment this is the only possibility to put an Java Applet with OpenGL acceleration online. So the "Trusted"-Window does not appear because of RhNav itself, but because of the OpenGL-Libraries it has to preload.

I have thought about a flash version too, however I'll stick to the current version. Flash would get quite slow with big graphs. Java+OpenGL has really great performance and is hardware accelerated. And current Java-development seems also very promising: I read that Sun will release Java as open source next year.

Kind regards,
Walter
